Biography

Alexandra Schmitt has been a research associate at the Institute for Technologies and Management of Digital Transformation at the University of Wuppertal since April 2023. There she studied sociology in B.A. and M.A. until 2022 with a focus on organizational sociology, qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research and research practice.

During her studies, she worked as a student and research assistant in various projects (ResOrt, SiKoMi, NORMALISE, KoViK) at the interdisciplinary Chair of Civil Protection, Disaster Relief and Object Security at BUW and completed internships in the field of criminological research (LKA NRW, KrimD NRW).  As part of her master's thesis, she intensively studied the generational construct in Germany and investigated the question of whether members of the "Baby Boomer" "X" and "Y" generations in Germany differ from each other with regard to the acceptance of non-pharmaceutical COVID-19 prevention measures as part of the NORMALISE project.

As a project manager at RTL Data, she came into contact with aspects of digital transformation after completing her studies and is now working on new developments in the field of information and communication technologies in a scientific context at the TMDT.
