Biography
Katharina Erwig has been a research assistant at the Institute for Technologies and Management of Digital Transformation since December 2019. She is currently working on the deFenSIO project, where she is focusing on increasing the resilience of critical infrastructures in the healthcare sector using the Malteser network as an example.
Katharina Erwig studied for her bachelor's and master's degrees in print and media technology at the University of Wuppertal. After completing her studies, she worked for a good 10 years as a technical consultant at the Employers' Association of the Printing and Media Industry Northwest (Arbeitgeberverband der Druck + Medienindustrie Nord-West e.V.).
During her time at BUW, she has been involved in the following research projects:
- deFenSIO: Strengthening defensive capabilities to secure the IT systems of an (aid) organization
- TRAIER.NRW: Transformation of the automotive industry in the Bergisch region
- camo.nrw: Center for Automated Mobility NRW
- InProD2: Inclusion in production – digital tools to support learning processes in production occupations/vocational training
- BigContentData: New data and content services for the printing and media industry in North Rhine-Westphalia
