Katharina Erwig is a scientific researcher at the Institute for Systems Research in Information, Communication and Media Technology (SIKoM) at the University of Wuppertal since December 2019. She is currently working on digital, barrier-compensated tools for in-company training as part of the "Inclusion in Production" project.

Katharina Erwig studied print and media technology at the University of Wuppertal, where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees. From 2008 to 2018, she worked as a technical advisor at the "Arbeitgeberverband der Druck + Medienindustrie Nord-West e.V.". Her consulting focus was on the topics: digital printing, e-business print, business areas of the future, technical process optimization, and strategy and business model development. She was also involved in the development of industry standards as well as the management, moderation & content design of workshops, trade events/congresses and specialist groups. After a short parental leave, Ms. Erwig joined the University of Wuppertal at the end of 2019. Through her industry expertise, she is involved in the project "BigContentData".
