Dr. Kathrin Krosch is working as a scientific researcher at the Chair for Technologies and Management of Digital Transformation and at the In-Institute for Systems Research in Information, Communication and Media Technology (SIKoM+) at the University of Wuppertal since September 2019.
Previously, she led an interdisciplinary research group on "Knowledge Engineering" at the Cybernetics Lab IMA & IfU of the RWTH Aachen University. Dr. Krosch studied Linguistics and Communication Science as well as German and general literature. In 2016 she received her doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy of the RWTH Aachen University with the topic "On the way to the foreign. Virtual Travelling to New Zealand in Reportages of German Public Television".
In recent years, Dr. Krosch has focused on the user-centered observation and design of knowledge-centered processes in socio-technical systems. She has led publicly funded projects on the topics of intercultural and socially responsible technology education for engineers and the development and management of interdisciplinary cooperation. In addition, she researched the requirements for quality of life and sustainability of urban development, with a special focus on a participatory approach of society, municipalities and companies.
