Alexander Engel has been a scientific researcher at the Chair for Technologies and Management of Digital Transformation at the University of Wuppertal since October 2020.
Mr. Engel received his bachelor's degree in sociology and political science and subsequently studied media and cultural sociology at the University of Trier. After his studies he worked as a project manager at the infas Institute for Applied Social Science in the division for data collection.
As a sociologist with a passion for methods of qualitative social research, he specialized in the study of socially and culturally mediated, collective and individual identities and everyday realities as well as their susceptibility to crisis in modern and postmodern societies. In particular, he focuses on the reciprocal effects and impacts of transformation processes on social cohesion, group dynamics and lifestyles
